“If the sun were to explode, you wouldn’t even know about it for eight minutes. For eight minutes, the world would still be bright and it would still feel warm.”

“It was a year since my dad died, and I could feel my eight minutes with him running out,” Oskar said. “There had to be a lock. I would find it because he wanted me to find it. And I would find it because it was the only way I could stretch my eight minutes with him. Maybe I could stretch them forever.”
